In the heat, the scarf leaves room for the scarf: an extra ‘knot’ of being a woman
The time has come to put the scarf aside and take out the scarf or dozen of models you have.
Also this year, your collector’s nature will be pushed to add at least 2-3 new and trendy scarves to the collection.
As always, you will do your technical tests in front of the mirror to free style and creativity, invent new ways to use and wear this or that model seen in the latest fashion shows. Woe to anyone who touches your accessories, you are very jealous, but scarves are your weak point and strength together.
Better than other accessories, they know how to give that extra touch to your look that not even a nice pair of glasses can do.
Even in winter you prefer the scarf to the scarf
You prefer the scarf over the scarf even in the cold season, actually, choosing for the occasion a warmer fabric, in silk and cashmere or in wool and cotton.
Large and showy, narrow and long, elegant, fashion, basic, light and fluttering, in solid color, with fantasy.
Each of the scarves that you secretly keep in the drawer is an extra piece to add to the great mosaic of your personality.
You like original combinations, surprising enough to distort, more often than not, the diktats of fashion.
Your imagination has no limits and, in the end, you always know how to impress by demonstrating your unpredictable class.
Sometimes, you find incredibly unique scarves by chance, in a stall. Other times, you have one printed by choosing the fabric and the photo (or color) to have something truly yours, nowhere to be found.
Those who use scarves and scarves as masks ….
There are women who just can’t do without a scarf or scarf. Cold or manic? Mystery like the woman herself.
We met many of them on the street, during the lockdown period, wrapped in their scarves or scarves. They still do this in Phase 2 of the Coronavirus emergency.
In the absence of masks (or for a visceral refusal) they wear scarves to cover the nose and mouth, fitting them between the lenses of the sunglasses. Totally ineffective to contain the risk of contagion, but it is stronger than them.
A surgical mask combined with the inseparable scarves clashes too much, it is not chic. And so, they make a virtue of necessity by improvising the double function of the scarf / mask.
Multifunctional scarf
A scarf (like a scarf) can complete the outfit making it as unique as your way of being. Soft and silky it can also work as a light shrug, as a soft jersey shawl on summer evenings or it can be knotted in your hair or turn into a very sexy mini pareo in viscose on the beach.
It is an accomplice of your whims, a diversion to play with, dare and have fun by attracting attention with a fantasy, a shade, a different knot, an extra idea.
The Spring / Summer 2020 trends focus precisely on this: on the capricious use of the scarf.
There is the trend of the durag (which is knotted like a bandana to keep hair in order) or that of the bon ton and very vintage allure of micro handkerchiefs to be worn in a triangle on the head and knotted behind the nape. Or the maxi models to belt the oval, to be tied under the chin.
But, perhaps, you prefer a long bandeau-style scarf, to be used as a headband to tie behind the head or with a side bow.
Or, perhaps …. the fashion that returns from the past … precisely, since 1962 …
Are you going to tie it like Jackie Kennedy’s?
The scarf tied in the hair, combined with large sunglasses. A fashion launched in 1962 by Jackie Kennedy, on vacation in Amalfi, which the designer Alberta Ferretti proposes again this year. The touch of class and exoticism for a diva look free to be.
After all, even divas cannot do without a scarf.
Thoughts go to movie stars like Audrey Hepburn or timeless style icons like Jacqueline Kennedy and Grace Kelly herself.
